i have read several commentaries. some saying he was liz mother others that he was the real Raymond reddington. some say he was his father which i think its absurd. Raymond Reddington categorially responded no when liz asked him point blank. i think the mum version is the most likely. could this be true?

Why the Katarina Theory Makes Sense:
The emotional intensity and the protective nature Reddington show toward Liz fits the idea of a mother protecting her daughter.
The show dropped several clues about the lengths Katarina would go to for Liz — taking on a new identity to protect her fits that pattern.
In the final episodes, Reddington’s emotional goodbye and the symbolic nature of his death lean toward the idea that the bond was deeper than just some criminal protecting a random child.
Conclusion:
While the show never gives a 100% clear answer, the Katarina theory makes the most sense. The idea that Katarina faked her death, took on Reddington’s identity, and lived that life to protect Liz aligns with most of the key plot points.
So yeah — you're not crazy for thinking the mum theory holds weight. It’s probably the closest thing to the truth we’ll get!
