THE HAJJ VILLAGE IS FRUITLESS AND WASTEFUL- DANIEL YAO DOMELEVO

THE FORMER AUDITOR GENERAL; DANIEL YAO DOMELEVO
DANIEL YAO DOMELEVO, THE FORMER AUDITOR GENERAL AND MEMBER OF ORAL TEAM

Domelevo, the former Auditor General appointed by the erstwhile Mahama administration in 2016, and a member of the ORAL (OPERATION RECOVER ALL LOOTS) team has described as shocking the Hajj Village Project.

According to the former auditor general, taking into consideration our current fragile economy, the Hajj Village is fruitless and wasteful.

He argues that as a country, we have not recovered from the $58 million spent on the National Cathedral which is still at foundation and described as arguably the most expensive pit in the world.

He again debunked the minister in charge of government communications claim that the project is not going to be sponsored by the taxpayer. To him, Ghana Airport Company Limited is a state-owned enterprise (SOE) and thus, it is hard to believe that public funds will not be involved since the government remains the major stakeholder of SOE's.
